About Us
Meeting People Where They Are
Make It Haverhill (MIH) is a workforce and digital access hub of Community Action, Inc., dedicated to expanding opportunity in Haverhill and across the Merrimack Valley. Since opening in 2019, MIH has grown from a grassroots, volunteer-led initiative into a dynamic community space offering workforce training, digital literacy, English language classes, and supportive services.
We believe that access to skills, technology, and education creates pathways to employment, economic stability, and long-term growth. Our programs are designed to meet residents where they are, whether they are seeking their first job, advancing their career, building digital skills, or strengthening their English proficiency.
Our mission
Sewing the fabric of a resilient community by meeting people where they are and equipping them with the tools, education, and confidence to build lasting financial stability.
Our vision
A community where every individual can access high-quality career exploration, education, and support services despite the barriers they face.
Our values
Welcoming
Keeping the door open and meeting people where they are. We champion the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance to learn, work, and thrive, no matter the background, language, or individual status.
Hardworking
Keeping the door open and meeting people where they are. We champion the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance to learn, work, and thrive, no matter the background, language, or individual status.
Collaborative
We partner with nonprofits, state and local government, small businesses, universities, community colleges, local school systems, employers, and faith-based organizations to deliver responsive, community-centered programs. These collaborations ensure our work is not only effective, but deeply rooted in the collective strength and expertise of those committed to creating lasting change.
Rooted
We started in Haverhill’s Mount Washington neighborhood, one of the city’s most overlooked areas. We have since then relocated to the downtown/inner city area of Haverhill, specifically in the vicinity of the Acre and Mount Washington neighborhoods to better support and serve our community. Through our programs, partnerships, and team, we offer a model that inspires others to reimagine innovative pathways to opportunity in their communities.
